The Ghana Police Service has identified a total of 241 flashpoints in the Upper East Region. These flashpoints are areas the police service believes there could be the possibility of chaos during and after the December 7 general elections.
The Talensi Constituency tops with 42 flashpoints, followed by the Chiana-Paga Constituency with 33. 29 points have been identified in Bongo. No flashpoint was however identified in the Bawku Central Constituency according to data put out by the police administration.
Meanwhile, at a crime reporting training for selected journalists in the Upper East Region, the Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCOP, Osei Kwaku Ampofo, at a Regional Crime Reporting Training Session, said his outfit is prepared to guarantee peace through out the electioneering process.
According to DCOP Osei Kwaku Ampofo, the police will deal with criminal elements who intend to disturb the peace being enjoyed and appealed to the general public to help the police administration with information in tackling crime.
