The Government of Ghana has launched a website known as the Delivery Tracker to track the progress of developmental projects and policies implemented.

The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said the tracker would enable all Ghanaians access and interrogate data on government’s policies and projects.

Touching on the essence of the tracker, Dr. Bawumia stated that the website would ensure that government is accountable and transparent to the people of Ghana. He added that it would aid government in monitoring all developmental projects and policies in order to ensure prioritization of uncompleted projects and policies.

The vice president who described it as a novelty stated that data on projects and policies is categorized into economic and geographical sectors for easy access by the public. He also added that pictures and digital addresses of the projects are being added to the data on the tracker.

“To enable all Ghanaians have access to and interrogate the data that we have put together, we are putting all these data on a website known as the www.deliverytracker.gov.gh. That is the website’s address. This is a novelty. The infrastructure data, when you get to this website, can be obtained either by sector; so if want infrastructure data on education, health or agriculture, or by region/district,” he stated.

“It would enhance accountability and transparency in governance. It would also enable government to monitor all infrastructural projects to ensure that uncompleted projects are prioritized in the process of capital budgeting,” the vice President added.

Speaking at a Town Hall Meeting in Accra on government infrastructural delivery, Dr. Bawumia touted Ghana as the first country in Africa to implement such portal to enable public access of infrastructural projects and policies. He also served notice that the tracker would be regularly updated.

On the government achievements in infrastructure, the vice president said government has since 2017 initiated 17,334 infrastructural projects out of which 8,746 have been completed while the remaining projects are being completed in the various sectors of the economy. These projects, the vice president stated, are captured individually on the website.
