The Electoral Commission has assured that its Data Centre has not been affected by fire outbreak at its office in Accra.
The Greater Accra Regional Office of the commission was engulfed in an inferno on Friday August 14, 2020 at about 2am.
The commission said the incident caused significant damage to the storey building located at Sarpeiman in Accra but destroyed only Old ballot boxes, used forms, and referendum materials.
A statement from the commission seen by dreamzfmonline.com said “The commission entreats the general public to ignore the falsehood being peddled on social media to the effect that its Data Centre was destroyed by the fire. The Electoral Commission assures the General Public that its Data Centre is safe and secure.”
