Final-year students of Kongo Senior High School in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region have been asked to go home for bullying first year students and causing destruction to the staff common room of the school.
Dreamz News understands authorities of the school, on Monday, June 6, 2022, asked about 46 students to go home following the bullying of the first year students who recently reported.
The juniors were, on Sunday June 5,2022, made to endure very dehumanizing acts including being made to lie on the floor with dirty water poured on them as some seniors can be seen in videos available to Dreamz News wielding belts and sticks and whipping the helpless freshers who are largely teenagers.
In some of the videos, the first year boys are made to lie on each other and forced to act as though they were having sex with each other. The actions by the final-year students formed part of their way of welcoming the freshers to life in senior high school.
Displeased with the disturbing incident in the school, authorities of the school took a disciplinary action to suspend about 46 students over their alleged involvement in the act which is outlawed in second circle institutions in the country.

Not happy about the action taken by the authorities, which saw their colleagues packing, the students went on rampage, causing damage to the staff common room. This then triggered the decision to send all the final-year students packing.
With the students expected to start the West African Senior School Certificate Examination later in August this year, it remains unclear when the students will be asked to return to school to continue preparations for the exams.
Meanwhile, the Nabdam District directorate is set to put up committee to look into the disturbance at the school and make the needed recommendations.
