Pollster Ali Imoro thinks the Minority Caucus in Parliament’s criticism of the ministerial reshuffle by president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is politically motivated.
According to him, the disapproval of the president’s decision by the opposition National Democratic Congress’ (NDC’s) side in Parliament is not based on genuine concern but a mere attempt to bastardize the government and the governing party and to enhance the NDC’s fortunes in the elections.
“Trust me, in our politics, if they were to bring Jesus Christ as a minister of finance, the minority will still come and criticize him. Their main agenda is now to make government look bad, to make every act that the government take seem useless. They know that every act of the government is towards the December polls so they will have to rubbish some of those actions,” he said in an interview on Breakfast Today on Dreamz FM.
The Minority Caucus has rubbished the changes president Akufo-Addo has made to his government.
They argue that the move has come too late and will not make any positive in the governance of the country.
They are also of the view thst the nominees are not competent enough to turn things around for the better under a president and Vice-President they described as “super incompetent”.
But Ali Imoro, who believes the new ministers and deputies have what it takes to help resolve the prevailing crisis, said the Minority’s criticism is unfair and mischievous.
“It is too early to criticize or describe someone as failure when the person has not done anything yet. The same Minority will approve these people. All of them will be approved. Although they will come out in the media and tell us that, things are bad, but they will still go and sit in the committee and approve these people to lead the affairs of the country”.
