Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central constituency Isaac Adongo is securing a win for a second term in parliament.
The out-spoken National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament was elected in 2016 upon a first entry into the race.
Provisional results obtained by dreamzfmonline.com indicates that Mr. Adongo has polled 34,157 at the end of collation of results from 139 polling stations out of 150 polling stations in the constituency.
Rex Asanga of the New Patriotic Party got 18,456, placing second in the race.
Though there are 9 polling stations yet to be counted, projections indicate that won’t make any significant impact on the victory of the NDC MP.
In the 2016 elections, Isaac Adongo garnered 25,042 votes representing 51.41% while his contender Rex Asanga got 15,610 representing 32.04%. The People National Convention’s Thomas Akurugu who recently defected to the National Democratic Congress managed 7,431 votes representing 15.25%
