Head Pastor of the Holy Ghost Temple Assemblies of God Church in Bolgatanga, Rev. Dominic Ziba, has called on leaders and followers of political parties and all other stakeholders to pursue peace before, during and after the December 7, 2020 General Elections.
The outspoken Head Pastor, who is optimistic that Ghana will sail through, said Christians and the Church should live in peace with one another and pursue peace.
Speaking in an interview with a section of the media in Bolgatanga, Rev. Ziba urged all stakeholders to remember that Ghana is bigger than personal or political interests.
“We are commanded in Scripture to pursue the peace of the nation. And again, the Bible says as much as is possible, dwell in peace with everyone. So with this, I think that the Church will pursue peace and we will pray for peace. Ghana is a country, I believe God is with us, so we have no doubt that God Himself will lead us before, during and after the elections,” he said.
He stressed that “God, who enthrones and dethrones, is aware of what he is doing, and will lead us and we will sail through peacefully.”
“In fact”, he continued, “this country is bigger than any individual. It is bigger than any political party. And I think we are all aware of that and I will encourage all the necessary players in the game to do it right and let God select a leader for us”.
In his message for Ghana’s youth, Rev. Ziba encouraged them to respect and remain humble in their dealings and refrain from all forms of violence.
“I want to let them know that they are the future leaders of this country and if there is anyone who has to be very cautious, it should be the youth because they have a long way to go. So we are expecting that tomorrow they will be the responsible leaders to become the DCEs, the presidents, engineers and whatnot.
So I will encourage them, as a Pastor, to be decorous, to be circumspect, to regard our culture and for that matter the Bible’s admonishing that we should respect and be humble in our ways so that tomorrow will be all right with us. So to the youth, I encourage them to be very gentle and not be used by anybody for violence. They should refrain from it,” he advised.
