Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga, Parliamentary Candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party, (NPP) in the Bongo Constituency has conceded defeat to Edward Bawa, the incumbent Member of Parliament on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC)
Certified Parliamentary Results for Bongo Constituency in the Upper East Region puts Mr. Ayinbisa second after he obtained 17,296 votes as against Edward Bawa’s 26,268. Meanwhile, PPP’s George Afari polled 1,548 with Richard Akamah of the Ghana Union Movement getting 439 votes.
Reacting to his defeat on Facebook, Mr. Ayinbisa congratulated Edward Bawa indicating that he went into the election hoping to win.
“I set out in this Election with the object to win. I knew from the very beginning that two things were involved; WIN OR LOOSE. I have lost the elections to you my Senior brother, Hon Edward Abanbire Bawah. I accept the defeat and wish to CONGRATULATE you on your victory”. He said.
