Socialite, Diamond Michelle Gbagonah popularly known as Shatta Michy believes love is a façade. According to her, there is no real love anywhere in the world.
This, she said, is evident in the increasing cases of divorce especially among young couples. Shatta Michy, who is musician, Shatta Wale’s ex-girlfriend and baby mama, argued that most people enter into relationships nowadays not because of love but to secure themselves financially as things are hard in the country and the world as a whole and as a result, are unable to stay in the relationships for long leading to breakups.
“I don’t know how to explain it but love is a scam. At this point, you can see how many people are getting married and divorcing every week and it is not equal to the number of marriages. I feel there is no real love. Life is hard right now. Everybody has to do something for something. People are getting married to secure themselves. People are being with men for money. It is just hand go, hand come. That is just how the world has become,” she stated in interview on Accra-based Kingdom Plus FM.
She expressed shock at the ease with which couples get separated in recent times.
“I don’t know how it is so easy for people to divorce because, at first, I thought it’s families involved, before you inform your mother-in-law that you want to divorce, they would call family meeting. After that, they would call the church. Then they are wasting your time. You would end up not seeking the divorce again. But now everybody is divorcing”.
