Former Member of Parliament for the Binduri Constituency, Dr. Robert Baba Kuganab-Lem, has made shocking revelations about the prevalence of job buying under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
According to Dr. Kuganab-Lem, people approached him to pay for their recruitment, with prices ranging from GHS10,000 to GHS15,000. This disturbing trend, he noted, has left many unemployed youth in despair.
“People have approached me to pay for their recruitment, ranging from GHS10,000 to GHS15,000. We [NDC] must not and will not continue the unmeritorious recruitment,” he spoke on Dreamz FM’s Breakfast Today show.
Dr. Kuganab-Lem further stated that some individuals, who secured jobs in the public sector, still owe debts due to the loans they took to pay for their employment.
He claimed the situation was rampant under the NPP government. The former MP’s comments come amidst the recent revocation of appointments made after the December 7 general elections.
Dr. Kuganab-Lem, who served as a member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana, did not mince words in his criticism of the NPP administration.
He alleged that the country was “totally destroyed” by the NPP government, which he believes prioritized the interests of its own members over the well-being of the Ghanaian people.
According to Dr. Kuganab-Lem, the NPP’s intention was to keep the majority of Ghanaians in poverty, while enriching themselves.
