JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA- NDC FLAGBEARER

Former President and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) John Mahama has accused the New Patriotic Party(NPP) administration of behaving as if non-NPP supporters were not Ghanaians by sidelining them in the distribution of premix to fisherfolk in the country.

He has therefore pledged to end the partisanship in the fishing industry that has excluded persons not aligned to the governing party.

Mr Mahama made this known when he interacted with fisherfolk yesterday in the Ada Constituency as part of his campaign tour of the Greater Accra Region Tuesday October, 27, 2020.

The former President alleged that NPP party executives in fishing communities were profiteering from the sale of premix by illegally increasing the prices of the subsidized product and keeping the profits realised for their personal use.

He explained that the premix is given to NPP party executives “and they put their profit on top and sell it to the fishermen.”

He lamented the preferential treatment accorded NPP supporters in the distribution of the fuel: “Everything is about their party. It means anybody else is not Ghanaian and it is only they[NPP supporters] who are entitled to the opportunities this country has to offer.”

He urged the fisherfolk to return him to power so that he will ensure fairness in the distribution of premix and outboard motors.
