Fast-rising musician, Shatana has launched a scathing attack on female celebrities who are members of the #FixTheCountry campaign pushing for good governance and the betterment of economic conditions in the country.
According to her, those female celebrities are unfit to demand for the challenges of the country to be addressed because they are living wayward lives.
She claimed most of the female celebrities supporting the campaign dress indecently and are engaging in immoral acts thereby, leading the youth, who see them as role model, astray.
Describing them in unpleasant words, Shatana asked the said female celebrities to change from their indecent and immoral lifestyles before they could demand the fixing of the country, stating that state actors do not take the issues the #FixTheCountry campaigners raised seriously because of the indecency and immorality of some of the members of the group.
“Slay queens are not qualified to talk about #FixTheCountry. Because they themselves are not organized, they themselves don’t have anything much in the brain. Because when you googled or get to their pages, you will see nude pictures, showing of breast and buttocks and the only thing they have done is teach the youth how to follow Sugar daddies, how to follow people’s husbands.
That is what they done to our youth. When I hear them speaking about #FixTheCountry, it hurts me. Because you look at them, you realize that they are no good to the society. So how can you demand for the country to be fixed when you are engaging immoral acts? You are always naked and taking about #FixTheCountry? You have to fix yourself first. Get some clothes to cover your breast and the other vital parts you are exposing. The ministers, the president and others don’t take us serious because of the way we dress,” she said in a video posted on social media.
Although Shatana mentioned no name in her comment, many believe her jabs are directed at actress and socialite, Efia Odo. Efia, who unapologetically wears skimpy dresses in public space, is one of the lead advocates of the #FixTheCountry movement.
She uses her social media pages to highlight the challenges facing the country and its citizens and demand actions from duty bearers.
Her social activism has won the hearts of many Ghanaians, earning her the name of ancient Ashanti Kingdom’s female warrior, Yaa Asantewaa
But Shatana, who is the sister of late hip-life star, Terry Bonchaka, intimated that Efia Odo is unfit to be called Yaa Asantewaa because “Yaa Asanteewaa wasn’t a prostitute or a ‘slay queen’”.
