The Deputy Upper East Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Andrew Asungiiba Atariwini has congratulated the National Democratic Congress (NDC), conceding defeat.

Though the Electoral Commission (EC) has yet to collate and certify the presidential results, provisional results from the various constituencies show that the NDC has taken a commanding lead, winning both presidential and parliamentary even in some traditional NPP’s strongholds.

Constituencies like Ablekuma West, Sekondi and Assin Central, which typically voted the NPP, have been flipped by the NDC.

Taking to social media to react to what seems to be a wind of change blowing throughout the entire country, the NPP Deputy Communications Director for Upper East Region congratulated the NDC, stating, “you won”.

Atariwini views the outcome of the elections as a protest by Ghanaians against the NPP and its government.

“The Ghanaian people protested, and we understand.  Let’s make Ghana work”.
