Former HIV/AIDS ambassador, Joyce Dzidzor Mensah has revealed that she has renounced her Christian faith and accepted Islam.
Joyce Dzidzor, in a post on social media, explained that the Christian faith she believed and practiced for years could not heal her of the ailments she has been suffering from hence, her decision to convert to Islam.
She is hopeful that her new religious faith will help her recover from depression and bipolar to enable her live a stable life.
“The Christian God is not helping me. So I decided to pray to Allah. Allah please heal me from depression and Bipolar disorder to enjoy a stable life,” she said, adding “May Allah bless as all”.
Joyce Dzidzor Mensah, who is an HIV/AIDS patient, has, over the years, been embroiled in one scandal or the other due to her condition which has been compounded with depression and bipolar disorder.
She disclosed that she has been suffering from depression and has had relapses of her bipolar condition as a result of constant stigmatization against her and her children.
The stigmatization against her and her two children, she claimed, pushed her to deny ever testing positive for HIV.
Lately, her posts on social media have got Ghanaians worried as they suggest she may be contemplating committing suicide.
