Residence of the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) parliamentary candidate and District Chief Executive (DCE) for Builsa South Daniel Kwame Gariba has been ransacked by yet to be identified assailants.

The assailants made away with many valuable items, the Upper East Regional Minister Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih told the media.

“I want to call on the leadership of the NDC in the Upper East Region to bring in their supporters so that this isolated incident in the Upper East Region does not repeat in other areas of the region,” Dr. Bin Salih said.

The incident is suspected to be linked to the December 7 election in which Daniel Gariba faced off with the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area Dr. Clement Apaak for the seat.

Dr. Apaak polled 8,974 of the valid votes to retain the seat for the NDC while Kwame Gariba garnered 5,061 votes to fail in his bid for the third time.

Seidu Christopher Akanzeboka of the People’s National Convention (PNC) secured 1,639 votes, placing third.
