The New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate for Bongo Constituency Diana Aburiya has said she will see to the provision of furniture for schoolchildren in the area if she is elected Member of Parliament for the constituency.

Dreamz FM’s investigation shows most schools including the oldest Senior High School in the area lack adequate furniture. The situation is hampering education as learners, who are unable to afford furniture, are either compelled to lie on their bellies for lessons or drop out of school.

Speaking to Dreamz News after casting her ballot, Diana Aburiya pledged to address the matter if she is given the nod in the ongoing polls.

“I have taken notice about that. And I’m hoping that if I get the nod and I take my rightful place in Parliament, I will address those challenges,” she told the media

She is facing off with Charles Bawaduah of the National Democratic in the race for the Bongo seat. Since 1992, the NDC has dominated the area, winning both presidential and parliamentary in every election.

But Diana Aburiya is determined to end the NDC’s dominance in the area as she is optimistic of beating her contender in the polls.
