The Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bongo Constituency, Diana Aburiya is urging residents of Bongo to vote her and the NPP in the 2024 General Election.
She believes that the time is ripe for the NPP to led the Bongo Constituency, as she believes many people including men and women are poised to give her the nod.
According to her the people of Bongo have had a feel of leadership under the NDC adding it is about time they gave the NPP a chance to lead in the constituency.
Bongo has over the years settled for an NDC candidate as MP. A development madam Aburiya hopes to break as she believes the time is ripe.
It would be recalled that Madam Aburiya, was the parliamentary candidate in 2012 but could not win against the NDC’s Albert Abongo. She subsequently, lost her bid as candidate in 2016 and 2020.
She is back in the race as the party’s parliamentary candidate and hopes to lead it to victory in the area.
It is therefore, her hope that residents of the area will give her the nod to help in the developmental agenda of the constituency.
“They have tasted the representation of the NDC in Parliament over the years, it is now time for them to also taste the representation of the NPP in Parliament and that is where they can make objective assessment of the two,” she said on State of Our Nation on Thursday.
“I can tell you that the general populace including men and women also want to have a feel of the NPP representation in Parliament. So I’m counting on the support, I’m counting on the assurances that I get from the constituency and that makes me believe that this around, there’s going to be a change and the change is going to be me”.
She explains that the NPP is growing in Bongo and is almost at par with the NDC.
“If you look at our constituency, if you study the performance pattern from that time to now, you can say it is not the same. So the NPP is growing and we have gotten to a point that we are almost at par with the NDC”.
