The Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bongo Constituency Edward Abesiwine Asekere has praised the District Chief Executive nominee for the area as one who is committed and dedicated to the affairs of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Joseph Akaseke Abaa, he said, has dedicated not only a greater part of his adult life serving the party in various capacities, but also have committed his resources to doing so.

Edward Asekere told a story of how the nominee turned his retail beverage business to hosting party members and activities to the detriment of the business.

“He has a drinking spot and people have asked several times ‘this your spot, is it for business or is for party people?’

You see almost all the time Joe hosting party people, talking to them and when you meet people and talk to them, at least at the end,  if it’s coke you have to provide, you have to.”

“And he has no money somewhere, he relies on his business to serve the party people.”

The nominee is not just committed to party activities, but also very generous and welcoming and at some point, used his entire salary to purchase and distribute food stuff to all households in his electoral area, according to the NDC Constituency Communication Officer.

This, he said, has endeared Joseph Akaseke to the people of the area and thus, they have greeted his nomination with joy and excitement.

“The people like him, both the constituency executives and  the branch executives, they like him because he’s patient, he has time for the people, he’s tolerant, he’s able to listen to their concerns and address them.

And so, when they heard the news, there was  spontaneous excitement.”

Joseph Akaseke Abaa, who is the current Constituency Secretary for Bongo, was among the 15 persons President John Dramani Mahama nominated to be appointed as MDCEs for the  15 assemblies in the Upper East Region.

The party’s Communication Officer of the area speaking of his nomination said residents are looking up to the nominee to work to address the development challenges of the district if he is approved.
