It was all joy for some mothers, who delivered at the maternity ward of the Bongo District Hospital on Thursday, April 11, 2024, as they received hampers from the Aqua Bolg Foundation for giving birth on a day Muslims across the globe marked Eid-Ul-Fitr.
The gesture by Aqua Bolg Foundation, a subsidiary of Aqua Bolg Natural Mineral Water, results from the Chief Executive Officer’s desire to give back to society in the holy month of Ramadan.
The CEO, Humul Krusum Tahiru, a devoted Muslim, strongly believes that putting smiles on the faces of others in society fulfills her religious faith, which requires one to extend a loving hand of support to a neighbor.
Apart from the donation forming part of the CEO’s religious faith, it is also a way Aqua Natural Bolg Mineral Water is giving back to the society that has since accepted and continues to patronize it.
The hampers received by the 10 new mothers of the Bongo District Hospital contained soap, diapers, pads, cash, and other items in appreciation of their struggle to go through childbirth during Ramadan and on the day of the Eid celebration.
Aside from Thursday’s donation to the 10 mothers in Bongo, the second of a similar donation, the Foundation in the not-too-distant past donated water tanks to some health and educational facilities to help store water.
Speaking to journalists moments after the donation, the CEO of Aqua Bolg Mineral Water, Humul Krusum Tahiru, noted that the donation is in appreciation of the patronage by the people of the Upper East Region.
“It is the people that find themselves in the communities that we sell that make us who we are so we have decided to give back to that community for our customers to feel part of our brand. This donation we decided to do every Ramadan happens to be our second donation. The last year, we were at the regional hospital and this year, we decided to come to Bongo District Hospital. We know that it is not easy to go through pregnancy so when women deliver safely, we need to come and say congratulations to them. We can’t do that every day but we think that a day every year is worth it.” She stated
She further explained that Aqua Bolg Mineral Water and the Aqua Bolg Foundation believe that the government cannot adequately address all the needs of the citizens, hence the decision to occasionally support individuals and organizations in need, adding Aqua Bolg Mineral Water remains water, the public can trust.
“For us at Aqua Bolg Natural Mineral Water, we are very conscious of what we do because we think that if we make mistakes and people consume the water and fall sick then the essence of producing the water would not have been met. So, if you are drinking Aqua Bolg Natural Mineral water, you know you are drinking something safe because we are careful during the production.” The CEO of Aqua Bolg Natural Mineral Water emphasized.
Dr. Kofi Asare-Anash, a Medical Doctor at the Bongo District Hospital, expressed gratitude to the foundation for the gesture and urged them to come to the aid of the hospital in the future.
