The Bolgatanga Nursing Training College is the latest tertiary institution in the Upper East Region to be disconnected by power distributor Northern Electricity Distribution Company.
According to NEDCO, the College owes over GH¢ 800,000 in electricity debt.
When officials of the power distribution company arrived at the school campus in an ongoing revenue mobilisation exercise, Principal of the Nursing Training College William Sebil pleaded for the sometime to make payment as he stressed that students were writing examinations and taking off the electricity power would affect the ongoing examinations and other critical engagements.
He could not state how much the institution was willing to pay to be allowed to continue to enjoy power.
Notwithstanding the plea, officials of NEDCO proceeded to cut power supply to the College.
