One COVID-19 patient who escaped from the treatment center in Bolgatanga several weeks ago has not been found by health authorities in the region.
Though there were frantic efforts to find the male patient who is suspected to have deliberately absconded, the search has not been fruitful.
Speaking at a Media Briefing, Deputy Director of Public Health at the Regional Health Directorate, Josephat Nyuzaghl explained that 279 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the virus with the exception of one who escaped from the treatment center.
“As we speak, all the 279 have fully recovered. The figure is so because we had two deaths and one absconded so we don’t have any case at the treatment center and there is no case that is being managed at home” he said.
So far, the Ghana Health Service has investigated 2418 cases of the virus with 282 confirmed cases and 2 deaths.
It also emerged that 11 health workers in the region contracted the virus but have all recovered.
