Dansyn Innovation Social Organization (Dansyn ISO), a social service organization has organized a consultative meeting with stakeholders in the Upper East Region to explore prospects of the digital media for economic development and job creation.
The meeting which was organized in collaboration with Ghana Tech Lab and supported by the MasterCard Foundation, Young Africa Works, the World Bank and the Ministry of Communication under the theme “The Role of Digital Media in Transforming the Economy for Job Creation and Economic Development” deliberated on challenges confronting the use of digital media in the region and ways of addressing such challenges for maximum utilization of the digital media for community development through creation.
Speaking to Dreamzfmonline on the sidelines of the meeting, Chief Executive Officer of Dansyn ISO, Daniel Yennube Nang said the program is part of the organization’s efforts to develop the entrepreneurial and digital skills of young people in the Upper East Region in order that they are equipped with the relevant skills that will enable them setup their own businesses and employ others so as to reduce the unemployment rate in the region and the country as a whole.
He explained that the program began with an eco- system mapping of the region through questionnaires and interactions with business owners to have a better understanding of the business terrain of the region. Major stakeholders in the various sectors of the economy, he added, were then identified and invited for a round table deliberation, the outcome of which will be published in a form of a policy document to be accessed by the general public.
Mr. Daniel Nang indicated that the organization has previously had other entrepreneurial and digital skills programs including Mobile App Development, Web Development and Artificial Intelligence, all in its bid to equip the teeming youth of the region with the requisite skills for the digital market and therefore, urged young people in the region to take advantage of the opportunity and benefit from the free training in digital media.
Dansyn Innovation Social Organization (Dansyn ISO) is a Non-profiting Organization based in Bolgatanga, Upper East Region that is specialized in the training and skills development of young people in information technology and entrepreneurship.
With support from its partners, the organization has provided various support schemes and training for young people in the region and beyond equipping them with the relevant skills for the job market.
