Speaking at the 2023 Performance Review Meeting of the Municipality held on February 21, 2024 at the Directorate, Municipal Director of Health Services Stephen Bodotsia expressed worry over the development.
“It is said to note that the death rate has increased by 14 percent (874) in the year 2023. The chief causes of these deaths included Septicaemia, followed by Pneumonia, liver disease, neonatal asphyxia, CVA, hypertension and tuberculosis,” he said.
