Abdallah Jonathan Salifu, the National Democratic Congress’ Communication Officer for the Upper East Region has accused leadership of the New Patriotic Party and the party’s parliamentary candidate for Bolgatanga East of masterminding the removal of David Akologo Amoah as DCE for the area.

David Akologo Amoah, who was appointed District Chief Executive for the Bolgatanga East District in 2021, lost his job on Saturday when president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced the revocation of his and 23 others MMDCEs’ appointments.

Although the president did not give any reason for his decision to remove them, many have attributed it to the appointees’ work relationship with the party in the districts and its parliamentary candidates.

Speaking on Breakfast Today this morning, Abdallah Jonathan alleged that Mathew Silas Amoah, who is the NPP parliamentary candidate for Bolgatanga East Constituency, together with some constituency executives masterminded the removal of the DCE.

He claimed that the said constituency executives have not been in good terms with David Amoah and thus, plotted to oust him.

“The fact of the matter is that they and their parliamentary candidate have said the man is not working with them. Ayinbisa gave 4 reasons – not working with PC, not working with executives and not working with the party. And in the case of Bolga East, the people Kumbosigo will forever be very disappointed in Silas and my brother sitting and the rest of the executives who masterminded his removal. What’s the man’s problem?”

But the Communication Director of the NPP for the Constituency Ayinbilla Abubakar Ateere, speaking on same platform, denied the allegations.

He stated that the party executives and Silas Amoah have a cordial work relationship with the former DCE and have no hand in his removal.

Ayinbilla added that the allegations by the NDC’s Communication Officer are just a ploy to create tension in the NPP in a bid to derail the governing party and its parliamentary candidate’s growing popularity in the area.

“I know today, the NDC has no message in Bolga East and they are only going to rely on this (allegation) but the youth are discerning. They want to knock our heads against each other. All what he is saying will not fly”.
