Bolga East: Gov’t working to complete stalled NDA boreholes – DC
Government is making efforts to complete about 80 boreholes which constructions have been stalled in the Bolgatanga East District, Agana Albert Akugre, the District Chief Executive for the area has said.
“We are working around the clock to see whether we can complete them and commission,” he stated.
Construction of the projects initiated under the Northern Development Authority to provide potable water for residents of the area commenced around 2018 but have been stalled.
Member of Parliament for the area Dr. Dominic Ayine, while commissioning a borehole in the constituency, called out government for failing to complete the projects.
But speaking in an interview on State of Our Nation on Dreamz FM, the DCE stated that he is working around to see their completion.
He indicated that he has had engagement with the Authority and has been assured of work resuming on the projects in the next two months.
“I had the opportunity of going to Tamale for a meeting, I went to the CEO of Northern Development Authority and I approached him about these projects and he assured me that maybe 2,3 months time which is about 2 months now he would make sure they would assist the contractors to complete those projects and they be commissioned”.
He continued, “I wouldn’t relax because he said so about a month or so but I have in mind that if I get the chance, I will go to Tamale”.
He is, therefore, hopeful that the projects will be completed by the end of this year.
