The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga East Constituency in the Upper East Region, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has stated that David Amoah was recently sacked as the District Chief Executive for Bolgatanga East for releasing his share of the common fund to him.

According to him, his comments thanking the now former DCE few months ago during the commissioning of some boreholes is what triggered the sacking and subsequent replacement  of Mr. Amoah.

“I did not find my relation with David anyway disturbing they are the ones who said he was too cozy with me. He was helping me to retain the seat and that he should be removed and he has accordingly been removed,” he stated.

He adds that the new DCE since assuming  office is yet to attend to  applications he made to utilize nearly 200,000 cedis in the account of the MP for development projects.

Dr. Ayine therefore, strongly believes the new DCE will act based on the desires and dictates of the party by not releasing the funds to.

“His removal will affect my access to the common fund, I believe the new DCE will behave in accordance with what his party wants him to do and the party doesn’t want the funds released for me to be able to develop and enhance the welfare of the people of Bolga east”.

He continued, “Whatever effort I think I should make, I have made, I had memos before him and I have been sending emissaries to his office to make enquiries whether or not they have been approved but we haven’t had the approval so I take it that he is not interested in approving them.

Because this is an election year, he thinks if he approves it will inure to my benefit because I will be assisting the various communities access portable water and also the payment of school fees, hospital bills and so on”.

Though he is optimistic a legal process can compel the DCE to release the funds, he will not in the interim, consider such an action.
