Vice-President and flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will, tomorrow May 17, 2024 visit the Upper East Region as part of his nationwide campaign tour.
This will be the first time Dr. Bawumia, who is seeking to succeed Nana Akufo-Addo as Ghana’s leader, will embark on a campaign visit to the region since his election as flagbearer of the governing party.
He is expected to hold engagements with the clergy, traditional leaders, business people and opinion leaders.
He is also scheduled to have a “special” interaction with small-scale miners at the Gbane mining site, Regional Communications Director of the NPP Peter Ayinbisa has said.
At these meetings, Dr. Bawumia will seize the moment to explain his policy ideas to the various groupings and solicit their views to shape the NPP’s manifesto for the 2024 elections.
“Remember the 70 point policies that he touted about, he will be explaining some of these things to the people of this region. So Upper East Region, tomorrow you have an opportunity to interact with the next president of Ghana. Don’t let the opportunity pass you by,” Peter Ayinbisa stated in an interview on Breakfast Today on Dreamz FM.
The Vice-President commenced his nationwide campaign on April 29 and has since visited close to 10 regions.
