Deputy National Coordinator of TEIN Job Aboyom has asked Ghanaians to ignore flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s pledge to transform the country and improve livelihood of citizens if he is elected president.
Job Aboyom stated that Dr. Bawumia is trickster and should not be given a listening ear.
According to him, the Vice-President and the NPP government, despite failing to live up to expectations, are attempting to hoodwink Ghanaians into believing that they have been spectacular in their performance in the last 7 years and should be kept in power.
This, in his view, smacks of dishonesty and should be rejected.
“This is a man who a heap of credibility issues hanging around his neck and no amount of whitewashing can set him free. He is but simply the byday trickster we have all come to know. Ignore his concoctions and conjurations and you will be at peace and progress with the NDC party ably lead by HE JDM,” he stated.
The Deputy National TEIN Coordinator, who doubles as Deputy Communications Officer of the NDC in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency, made these remarks in a statement, reacting to the recent public address by the NPP flagbearer.
Dr. Bawumia, at a public address at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), outlined what he said are the achievements of the Akufo-Addo-led government and his vision for the country if he is elected president.
He claimed that the Akufo-Addo administration inherited a messy economy but was able to turn things around due to its effective steering of the affairs of the country.
Between 2017 and 2020, he said the crisis that plagued the country was resolved and the economy brought back on track until the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
But Job Aboyom dismissed the Vice-President’s claims as a concocted narrative.
He argued that the positive economic indicators recorded in the said period was as a result of stringent measures put in place by the Mahama government before it exited office and the supervision of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
“Suffice to say that the fundamental growth of the economy then did not happen because of the so-called economic acumen or wizardry of Dr. Bawumia as chairman of the EMT”.
While describing as address as uninspiring and a mediocre, Job Aboyom posited that the Vice-President and the NPP government are a monumental failure and should be rejected in the December polls and the NDC and its flagbearer brought in as he believes they have what it takes to resolve the prevailing crisis facing the country.
