The old students of the Bawku Senior High School have honored and disclosed a decision to name a street in the school after COP Patrick Akolgo, Director General of the National Protection Directorate of the Ghana Police Service.
The top police officer who is also an old student of the Bawku Senior High School was honored for his contribution and continuous support to his alma mater.
At the 3rd Bawku Old Students Association (BOSA) Homecoming held at the school campus in Bawku, it was disclosed that COP Patrick Akolgo continues to extend support to the school with the recent being his offer to carry out works on some roads in the premises of the school.
Speaking at the recently held homecoming event, Vice President of the Association Alhaji Abdallah Otito Achuliwor disclosed that the security capo and businessman was a Senior Prefect of the school during his day’s as a final year student.
“As we were talking about gravelling and reshaping of the roads, it is him (COP Patrick Akolgo) who brought his machinery to cut new roads on campus and to rehabilitate existing roads. Before I leave office I would like us to name one of the streets on campus after COP Patrick Akolgo,” Alhaji Otito announced.
BOSA as part of the bi-annual homecoming handed over to the school some projects that were undertaken by the Association.
Projects undertaken by the Old students include the creation of new roads and reshaping of existing roads, drilling and mechanisation of boreholes, renovation of some infrastructure amongst others.
COP Patrick Akolgo also handed over a set of brass band to the school for use by the cadet corps.
