THE DEPLORABLE STATE OF THE SCHOOL'S MAIN ENTRANCE

The Rector and Headmaster of Notre Dame Minor Seminary Senior High School in Kassena Nankana Municipality of the Upper East Region, Rev. Father Vitus Alnaa, has appealed for support from old students and other stakeholders to enhance teaching and learning.

He described the school’s main entrance as one that does not befit the status of a school that is ranked as the 8th best senior high school in the country. Aside from this, he disclosed that the school heavily relies on a 14-year-old pick-up truck for various activities including carting food items and transporting sick students to the hospital amongst others.

Rev. Father Alnaa noted that as Headmaster of the school, he hardly used the vehicle for anything due to the intense pressure.

Speaking to Dreamz News on the sidelines of the handing over of a refurbished staff common room by the 1999 batch of Notre Dame, the Headmaster explained that the challenges of the school are enormous as he hopes that other year groups will intervene.

Other challenges he identified include the absence of a risograph, the need to expand the school’s farmhouse, and a face-lift to some hostels.

According to Rev. Father Alnaa, these challenges hamper the efforts of authorities to reach greater heights and do not speak well of the school’s widely acclaimed, remarkable performance and status, hence his call for urgent support.

CAR MEANT FOR THE HAEDMASTER OF NOTRE DAM

“We have a tall list of areas that we need old students and other stakeholders to support. We are the 8th best senior high school but the main entrance doesn’t even befit the status of the school. We need a risograph, we need support to continue to run our farmhouse and renovate some hostels. Our pickup is 14 years old now and that is what we rely on for everything. When a student is sick it is the same pickup, it is the one we use for the kitchen services and I hardly use that pickup as the head. It is old and cannot move beyond this region for anything.” He lamented
