Newly elected parliamentary candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party and DCE for Builsa South Daniel Kwame Gariba is confident of unseating Member of Parliament for the area Dr. Clement Apaak.

Mr. Gariba said the MP has failed to meet the expectations of constituents and will be rejected in the 2024 Elections.

“We are uprooting him like cassava. Clement Apaak, in coming to office, made a lot mouth-watering promises. The people of Builsa South has so much confidence in him but almost 8 years in office, he has nothing to show apart from the normal rhetorics. So people’s expectations of him is completely off,” he stated.

The DCE said this in an interview on State of Our Nation following his election as parliamentary candidate of the NPP.

Daniel Gariba had, on two occasions, contested the seat but lost in both occasions to the incumbent MP Clement Apaak.

He, however, believes he stands a better chance this time around to win the seat.

He said while the MP has become unpopular due to his non-performance, he has demonstrated that he is committed to addressing the needs of the people, endearing him to them.

He is, therefore, confident of winning the seat in next year’s poll for his party.

“The people have decided this time that he has done  8 of his years and nothing to show. The things that he promised to do – road networks, electricity, he would bring development to the various communities – they are not seeing. It’s me who the people didn’t vote for who is doing so much in their various communities – providing them water, providing them with jobs, providing them skills”.
