National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has alleged that daughters of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Gyankroma, Edwina and Valerie have been using the presidential influence of their father to force money out of state institutions for purposes unknown.
According to Mr Gyamfi the daughters of the President upon the assumption of office of their father established a company, My Sister’s Keepers, ostensibly to siphon taxpayers’ money from state institutions using power and clout of their father.
Speaking in Twi on UTV’s programme, Nokw3r3 Mmr3, Sunday October 24, 2020, Mr Gyamfi revealed that the trio has successfully taken money from many state institutions, including GHC 227, 000 they received from the GCB Bank.
“When their father became President, they set up a company. And because their father is President, they go to any state institutions they know has money and request for any amount they deem fit. They tell the institution that they want the money to do their work. And they are given the money. Whatever they use the money for, no one knows. They have been to many institutions for money. Today, we have the evidence of their activities. We have the evidence so that you can see…The three daughters of President Akufo-Addo went to the Ghana Commercial Bank. And money belonging to Ghanaians was given to them. GHC 227, 000 was given to them…” He said.
Mr Gyamfi disclosed that they have verified that the My Sister’s Keepers Company belongs to the President’s daughters, according to documents it obtained from the Registrar Generals Department. The company, he added, was set up in June 2017 and the shareholders and directors are the President’s daughters. The document state that the object of the company is “to support women and children in Ghana”.
Mr Gyamfi also stated that the First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo took money from the Ghana National Petroleum Authority (GNPC) for her foundation.
He insisted that the Akufo-Addo administration was engaged in grand nepotism and looting of the state’s resources and should be voted against in the general elections come December 7.
