The President’s appreciation comes at a time when Ghana’s neighbors are grappling with instability, yet Ghana remains a beacon of peace.
While addressing stakeholders in the region during his nationwide tour, President Akufo-Addo revealed that foreign leaders often inquire about the secret behind Ghana’s peace.

He firmly believes that the good sense and determination of the Ghanaian people to coexist peacefully, despite cultural and socio-economic diversity, have fostered a unique environment of mutual respect, understanding, and unity.
The President attributed the relative calm in the Upper East Region and Ghana as a whole to the collaborative efforts between traditional leaders and security agencies. “Particularly, I want to thank the Chiefs for their cooperation with the government in ensuring peace and stability in the Upper East Region,” he said.
President Akufo-Addo specifically commended Zug-Raan Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II for his contributions to peace in Bawku, acknowledging that “by and large, we are getting on top of the situation”.
