MOSES AMOAH. NPP's Constituency Secretary for Navrongo Central

The Navrongo Constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has criticized Donatus Akamugri Atanga, the Upper East Regional Minister-Designate over his response to a question about the Paga airstrip.

According to him, the Regional Minister-Designate was unconvincing and sounded lost in his answer on the issue.

When the nominee appeared before the Appointments Committee on Monday January 27, 2025, Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central Patrick Yaw Boamah asked Akamugri whether he has plans of pushing for the redevelopment of the Paga Airstrip to enable flights into the region.

But in response, Akamugri indicated that he will press for the construction of the proposed regional airport in the capital, Bolgatanga instead.

This response, Amoah said, was unconvincing.

“He didn’t sound convincing at all. They asked him about Paga Airstrip and he was just only saying things, probably, he himself didn’t even understand what he was saying. I wasn’t too convinced”.
