Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central constituency Isaac Adongo has accused some section of the Ghanaian media of serving as conduits for what he described as evil which is being perpetrated by the New Patriotic Party in the 2020 election.
According to the National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament, the New Patriotic Party has ridden on purchased media to turn the 2020 elections in their favour.
“After ruining the future of government and collapsing our economy, you cannot use tactics and a purchased media to perpetrate the evil that he (President Akufo Addo) has done over the years,” he told journalists in Bolgatanga.
Isaac Adongo who was speaking after being declared winner of the parliamentary election in the Bolgatanga Central constituency named Accra based Joy fm of being part of media outlets in the fold of purchased media.
“Joy fm and the likes should understand that you can take your monies behind the scenes but the will of the people is much stronger and Ghana will emerge victorious and Ghana will continue the forward march to the development of our country under the able leadership of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama,” he added.
The opposition National Democratic Congress has accused the media of bias and complicity in what they have said is a flawed election.
General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia at a press conference on Thursday said the party can no longer be proud of the media as it has been the case.
