Highlife and afrobeats singer, Kidi was crowned Artiste of the Year at the 4th edition of the 3 Music Awards held on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
Kidi beat competition from Sarkodie, Kuami Eugene, Stonebwoy, Adina, Diana Hamilton, Fameye and Medikal to win the coveted award.
Aside winning the coveted award of the night, the Lynx Entertainment signee won the most awards at the ceremony held virtually. In all, he took home four awards including the Afrobeats Song of the year, Song of the Year and the EP of the Year.
He won both the Afrobeats Song of the Year and Song of the Year with his hit single ‘Enjoyment’ while his Blue EP which has songs like ‘Say Cheese’ and other hit songs won him the newly introduced EP of the Year category.
Other winners of the night include Gospel singer, Diana Hamilton and reggae/dancehall singer, Stonebwoy who took home three awards each.
Stonebwoy won Viral Song of the Year with his freestyle song, ‘putuu’, Highlife Song of the Year with his soul-piercing song, ‘Sobolo’ and Album of the Year with his 2020 album, Anloga Junction.
Diana Hamilton also picked up the Gospel Act of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year awards.
Rapper Sarkodie won two awards including the Hiplife Song of the Year and Best Performer of the Year while Medikal took home the Hiplife/Hip-hop Act of the Year.
Female rapper, Eno Barony, for the first time, dethroned the males to be crowned as the Best Rapper of the Year.
