DR. MAHAMUDU BAWUMIA ADDRESSES DELEGATES AT A RALLY IN BOLGATANGA

Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who doubles as flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party,(NPP) has called on Ghanaians to reject former president John Dramani Mahama’s bid to lead the country again because the former leader will not account for his stewardship if given the mandate.

According to the former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, he has the opportunity to run for 8years and would therefore be more accountable to the people of Ghana than his main contender.

He explained that Mr. Mahama has only 4years if elected and this will make it difficult for him to be able to account to the people of Ghana as a president is expected to do.

Dr. Bawumia , who insists Mr. Mahama failed during his tenure as the country’s leader, believes he is better placed to address the development challenges of Ghana, adding he has pushed forward several policies and demonstrated that he has a track record that can propel Ghana’s development as he urges the residents of Upper East to vote for him.

“When I become president, I will account to you. And I will come back in 4 years time and ask you for your votes and you will then examine what I have done and decide to give it to me or not. So potentially, I have 8 years to govern and 8 years to transform this country. 8 years to change lives,” he stated.

“My opponent, on the other hand, only has 4 years so he can’t come back to account to you. If you give him the mandate, he will go for honeymoon and after the honeymoon, he will not see him again. He will not come back to account to you”.

Speaking during the “Youth Connect” forum to crown his visit to the region last Friday, the Vice President stated that voting Mahama will make him go for a honeymoon and not return.

He is emphatic that for the third time in a row, Former President Mahama will be rejected.

“He has been president before and he failed, and we rejected him in 2016, rejected him again in 2020 and we’ll reject him again in 2024”.

He outlined many areas that Ghana has done better than even countries deemed to be advanced. Some of these include the digital address system, mobile money interoperability among others.
