The Regional Capital of Upper East, Bolgatanga is serving host for this year’s Northern Ghana Development Summit.
The event put together by the Government of Ghana and the Northern Development Authority with funding support from StarGhana Foundation is held under the theme “Transforming the Economy of Northern Ghana within the context of the 2020 General Elections”.
The key address will be delivered by Guest Speaker and Member of the Council of State, Prof. Yakubu Nantogmah Bo-Na.
The Guest of Honor who is Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Mrs Mary Chinery-Hesse made a virtual presentation on the Topic, “Narrowing the North-South Inequalities: What Needs to be Done?”.
Other Discussants include Prof. Agnes Apusigah who will be leading a discussion on ‘securing the dignity and human rights of women in communities’ in Northern Ghana. What attitudes and actions are required’?
Founder of the Millar Open University, Prof. David Millar will lead a discussion on ‘Developing a vibrant, resilient and profitable agricultural sector in northern Ghana. What needs to change’?
The Summit is also attended by all five regional ministers from the north, representatives of regional houses of chiefs, queen mother’s, MMDCEs, Heads of regional coordinating councils and Heads of departments of Northern Ghana.
