Kenneth Musah Majeed, a loyalist of former Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen says the former minister is the person with the right leadership qualities to lead the country.
Speaking in an interview on Breakfast Today on Dreamz FM, Musah Majeed described Mr. Kyerematen as a visionary and humble man who has made a mark in the governance of the country.
He claimed the former minister has not only served well in the positions he has held but is also the brain behind some key government’s initiatives and policies.
“What convinces me that Alan is the man is his own qualities. Every opportunity he has been given, he has served with distinction. He’s somebody every ministry he’s headed, he came there with a vision,” he stated.
One of such initiatives, he said, is the 1 District, 1 Factory (1D1F) initiative.
Musah Majeed claimed Mr. Kyerematen mooted the policy idea when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was drafting its manifesto in the lead up to the 2016 elections.
That is not all, the former Trades Minister, he added, was also instrumental in wooing global manufacturing companies to establish car assembly plants in Ghana.
“When the current administration was about to come and we were trying to plan ahead, the issue of 1 District, 1 Factory, it is Alan’s brainchild. The assembling if automobiles in Ghana was Alan’s brainchild”.
He added, “He is a patriot. He is somebody who is willing to serve his country and coupled with he is not arrogant”.
He said this while defending Mr. Kyerematen’s decision to exit from the NPP and contest the 2024 elections as an independent candidate.
According to him, the former minister’s move is in the interest of the country.
He argued that the current partisan nature of the country’s governance is inimical to national development hence, Mr. Kyerematen’s quest to ensure a paradigm shift.
Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen formed the Movement for Change to further his presidential ambition after pulling out of the NPP’s presidential primary and subsequently resigning in September last year.
He recently entered an alliance with a number of political parties and groups to form the Alliance for Revolutionary Change (ARC).
He is expected to lead the new movement and contest the December polls.
