An 18-year-old hotel receptionist at Siim Lina Guest House in Bolgatanga, capital of the Upper East Region has allegedly been raped by a military officer.

The yet to be named officer is said to have logged at the guest house at about 9:00am on Monday September 2, 2024 after paying 150 cedis, which was meant for a full day.

Per the victim’s narration, the officer called a lady who came to meet him in the room but left few minutes later.

He then made advances at her which she rejected and urged the said officer not pass such advances at her since she was not interested.

The officer, who was wearing a Manchester City replica Jersey at the time, did not listen to her and rather allegedly grabbed her by the hair and dragged her while threatening her with a yellow scissors.

He then proceeded to rape before freeing her.

Alone at the time, the young girl, who was employed just four days ago, ran to report to neighbours, who, in turn, blew the alarm, leading to citizens apprehending the man, who was later identified as a soldier.

At the time Dreamz News got to the scene,  some military officers at the Abilba Barracks were called in and they subsequently took the officer and the victim, accompanied by the Assembly Member for the Soe Central Electoral Area, Lambert Akunzebe to the Abilba Barracks.
