Musician Fasetwo has been crowned Artiste of the Year at the 2023 Upper East Music Awards held last night at GNAT Hall in Bolgatanga.
The Chianabu, as he is affectionately referred to, beat competition from then reigning Artiste of the Year Pandy, 2021 Artiste of the Year Nambawan and host of other big acts in the region to pick up the topmost award.
Fasetwo also won the Male Vocalist of the Year as well as the Producer of the Year.
However, Ma la hu by rapper Nambawan won the Happy Man Bitters Most Popular Song of the Year.
The rapper also picked home two other awards including the Songwriter of the Year and Afrobeats/Afro pop Song of the Year for same song.
The Best New Act of the Year award went to Zebilla-based Artiste Flamebwoy who also won the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year.
For winning the coveted award, Fasetwo walks home with a cash prize of GH¢20,999 and will be sponsored by the headline sponsor Happy Man Bitters to hold a concert. He will also be supplied with products of Charger Limited for a year and be permitted to use the brand logo.
Nambawan, whose song won the HMB Most Popular Song of the Year, receives a cash prize of GH¢5,000 and sponsorship for a music video while the New Act of the Year award winner will benefit from a GH¢500 monthly stipend for a year.
