Two members of one of Ghana’s most successful music groups, Praye, has urged the people of the Volta Region to reject the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama in the 2020 General Elections.
Stephen Fiawoo known by his stage name Praye Tiatia and Nana Kwame with the stage name Praye Tenten, who thrilled supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with sterling performances at a rally addressed by president Akufo-Addo at Dzodze Dzesime in the Ketu North Constituency, want residents of the region to change their voting pattern in the December Elections.
According to Praye Tiatia, the NDC and its presidential candidate have neglected the people of the region in the distribution of developmental projects and policies despite the unflinching support the region has shown the party over the years.
“What exactly has Mahama done for us, we the Ewes? Just one (He has done nothing). So why are we voting for him? Why do we keep voting for the NDC,” he squeezed.
Outlining the achievement of the NPP’s government ,Praye TiaTia mentioned among others the Free Senior School policy and One District, One Factory as policies of the governing party which are beneficial to the people of the region.
He therefore urged the people of the Volta Region particularly the youth to vote for the NPP’s presidential candidate, president Akufo-Addo for a second term in office so that he and his party will continue to implement policies and projects that will improve their lives.
“The youth, are we going to stand up and vote Nana Addo to continue the job, to continue the work. Now, let me give my list (beneficial policies to Ewes), Free SHS, One District One Factory, hospitals and more. 4 more for Nana,” he stated
He also appealed to residents of the Ketu North Constituency to vote for the NPP parliamentary candidate, Samuel Kofi Dzamesi who doubles as Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs stressing the need for the region to give the NPP more seats in parliament.
“Let’s vote for Dzamesi. We need a seat. It is not good that the whole of Volta Region we don’t have representation in parliament. It is about time we get a seat. Letsvot3 for Kofi Dzamesi,” he added.
The two members of the music trio have since 2016 supported and campaigned for the governing party. Unlike the two, Eugene Baah known by his stage name Praye Ho Ne Ho who is also member of the group has not declared support for any political party.
