Sarkodie

Rapper and CEO of Sarkcess Music, Sarkodie has condemned Dancehall musician, Stonebwoy for assaulting his manager, Angel Town.

Confirming the incident in a virtual press conference, Sarkodie said he is extremely disappointed in Stonebwoy for his conduct at the recording session of the Black Love Virtual Concert at the Black Star Square considering the dancehall musician’s relationship with his manager.

According to the rapper, he was upset by the fact that his colleague resorted to physical attacks instead of addressing whatever grievances he had in an amicable way. He noted that the music industry has been viewed by the corporate world as violent and it is incumbent on musicians to conduct themselves in ways that would clear the negative perceptions about the industry.

He said although his colleague may be aggrieved by the actions of his team, it was unacceptable of him (Stonebwoy) to resort to violence.

“What got me upset was the fact that he chose to go physical with the situation. My brother went overboard. And to me, it is the highest level of disrespect no matter what happened because I have been to his concert and he has no idea of what I went through to get on that stage. So the long and short of the story is that my brother (Stonebwoy) did hit my manager and I’m here to confirm and condemn the act and let him know that I’m extremely disappointed knowing how he is with Angelo,” the rapper said.

The rapper also commended his manager for not retaliating when he was attacked.

While accepting Stonebwoy’s apology, he advised up and coming musicians to learn to control their reactions as they are bound to be provoked.

Stonebwoy reportedly attacked Sarkodie’s manager, Angel Town on August 10, 2020 following a misunderstanding between the two at a recording session of the recently held Black Love Virtual Concert.

Though Sarkodie had refused to confirm the report stating that he was going to address the issue after his Concert, Stonebwoy in a video which was widely circulated on social media apologized to him and his manager but denied claims that he brandished a gun.
