Sarkodie

Rapper Sarkodie has asserted that the development of African is being impeded by the Christian religion.

The CEO of Sarkcess music stated that he has come to the realization, growing up in the continent, that Christianity presents a lot of obstacles that hinder development.

The rapper in an interview with DJ Vlad on Vlad TV said people of the continent fear to engage in certain socio-economic activities that promote development because they believe that such acts are against the teachings and values of the Christian religion.

Sarkodie stated that though he would not say christianity is evil because he as a christian practice the positives aspects of the religion to his advantage, other believers of the religion are not able to distinguish between the aspect of the religion that is helpful to them and that which hinders their progress, as a result, they become extreme believers of the religion which prevents them from engaging in practices that ensures self-development.

He added that others turn to be hypocritical about progressive practices which they undertake because of the belief that christianity is against such practices.

The rapper was answering questions on whether he supports the idea of tearing pictures of a white man which are portrayed as pictures of Jesus Christ.

“I think growing up and learning more, there is a lot to christianity that impede progress which I think in these times, people are waking up , myself (inclusive). I wouldn’t still say it’s evil because I use it to my best interest. I know how to use it but a lot of people just go overboard and just wanna stay dumb in it. My people out here, I think they take it way too serious. I don’t take it like that,” he stated.

In his opinion, Africans are becoming aware of false religious concepts which they were made to believe are integral part of the religion.
