Actor and Television Personality, Ama K. Abebrese has criticized Songstress, Wendy Shay over the latter’s protest against laws prohibiting celebrities from advertising alcoholic beverages and sports betting.
The RuffTown Record’s signee has expressed her unhappiness about regulations by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and the Gaming Commission which prohibit celebrities from promoting alcoholic beverages and sports betting respectively stating that such regulations impact negatively on the incomes of celebrities thus, stifling the growth of the Entertainment Industry.
Earlier this month, the Songstress appealed to President Akufo-Addo to intervene in order to stop the regulators from enforcing such regulations. She later indicated her intentions to sue the two regulators over violation rights of entertainers.
But the Actor in a Social media post on October 14, 2020 subtly criticized Wendy Shay for pushing for the ban to be lifted.
Making reference to the widespread protest in Nigeria against police brutalities, she intimated that the Songstress is protesting against the bans, which are placed as measures against the luring of the many youth into alcoholism and gambling, for her parochial interest at the expense of the well-being of the country’s teaming youth who admire her and her craft.

In Ghana, some celebrities are fighting to be paid to promote alcohol and sports betting to youths as a ‘Human Rights’ issue. Everyone has a right to protest what matters to them,” she said in the post.
