Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Isaac Adongo has been appointed to serve as a member of the governing board of the Bank of the Ghana.
He has been appointed together with 11 others, “in consultation with the Council of State and in accordance with Article 70(1)(d)(iii) of the Constitution and Section 8 of the Bank of Ghana Act, 2002 (Act 612) as amended by the Bank of Ghana (amendment) Act, 2016 (Act 918),” a statement from the Presidency signed by the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu announced.
As spelt out in the Bank of Ghana Act, the board is mandated with the responsibility of formulating required policies for the realization of the objectives and function of the Central Bank.
The reconstitution of the board follows the swearing-in of the new Governor and First Deputy Governor by President Mahama on February 25, 2025.
Dr. Johnson Asiama, the governor and Dr. Zakari Mumuni, the First Deputy Governor have been appointed to serve on the board as Chairman and a member respectively.
The rest of the members include Thomas Nyarko Ampem, the Deputy Minister of Finance; Augustine Fritz Gockel, Nana Akua Ayivora, Emma Akua Buley, Evelyn Naa Checker Kwatia, Dr. Stephen Senyo Sapati, Beatrice Feehi Annangfio, Kizzita Mensah and Joseph W. Asamoah.
