Actress and TV host, Nana Ama McBrown says her influence and large following have placed a responsibility on her to be decorous and decent in her public appearances.

Speaking in an interview on TV3 on Tuesday, McBrown stated that although she has what takes to hit back at her critics and those who attack her verbally in equal measure, she intends to leave a good legacy in the minds of Ghanaians and will not engage in acts that will displease them.

She noted that many Ghanaians admire and adore her and have high expectations of her in terms of her conduct and public appearances.

“I’m ready to leave a legacy and a good life so I have to listen, I have to know what Ghanaians don’t like. They don’t like insults, I won’t do that, they don’t like you showing too much body (I don’t show my body). You think I can’t wear skimpy dresses and expose my body. Now that I have a good body?”

She added, “I love Ghanaians because they love me. They don’t like things like insult, so I won’t do it not because I can’t do. If you insult me, I want to hit you back, you’ll cry”.

The actress cum TV host has become the talk of town following her move to Media General, owners of Onua TV where she will be working.

Her fanfare unveiling yesterday at the premises of Media General got social media buzzing with many sending her congratulatory messages.

However, some staff of Despite Media, where she had worked as a TV host on UTV before leaving to her current workplace, took issues with her.

They accused the TV host of being ungrateful to her former employers.

According to them, their bosses picked up McBrown with no experience or skills in media and groomed her to become the star that she is in the media space today.

The least she could have done, in appreciation of the sacrifices and investment her former employers made in shaping her career, is to stay and render her services to them, they argued.

But McBrown has fought back, refuting their claims.

She said she had, over the years, work hard to build a strong career not just as an actor but also in the media space even before her engagement with Despite Media.
