Coordinator for Eventz and More, Yiranbon Philip explained to Dreamz News that the hiking event was to take advantage of the tourism potential the place offers.
He added that beyond the fun, the essence is to promote tourism in the Upper East Region as he be promises that his outfit will organize more events to help people connect with nature.
“This was necessary in the sense that almost all the programmes in the region are just about clubbing so we wanted to have the fun with our health in mind and to take advantage of some of the tourist sites in the region. We want people to know that we can really have fun and let people also know that we have more interesting places that are worth visiting so we’re using this hiking as a test.
People should expect more from us and we will continue to take advantage of the tourist sites and to project the region through tourism “. He noted.
Patrons were happy to have been part of the event while calling for the frequent organization of such events.
One of the patrons, Ato Dadzie, affectionately called Barrister Eva Amekudzi of the Kejetia vs Makola fame described the event as an exciting one as he calls for the use of social media to promote these sites in the region.
“This is the first time I’m taking part in something like this and I think we should use social media to get these things out there. We need to let people get to know about these activities and sites in the Upper East Region”. He said.
