Martin Soore affectionately called Soorebia, a Hip pop/hip life contemporary musician based in the Upper East Region who has gained notoriety for his ability to get music lovers on their feet with danceable tunes is set to release a new album christened, the “Bag of Rocks EP”.
With its release scheduled for March 18, 2022, the winner of the Next Rated Act in the 2020 edition of the 3Music Awards, has promised something for everyone in the seven-tracked album.
The “Bag of Rocks EP”, according to Soorebia, from the arrangement of the tracks, tells a story of hard times and moments when one seems not to have support thereby making it hard for the person to cope with the situation as is told in the song “Monopoly”.
The second song on the list, “I’m ready” featuring Tamale-based artiste, One Naira is one appreciating those who stood by him during the days of difficulties especially his partner while Voole is for the ‘boys’, ‘boys’ who equally did not let him down.
Having had support from the partner and close friends, Soorebia in the fourth track tells a story of how he is now feeling fine which is contained in a song titled “Feeling”
To cement that joy and support from friends and family members who supported him during the difficult period, the Gaafara hitmaker, is inviting these special people in his life to join him celebrate in the song ‘One toast” which features another Tamale-based musician, Fadlan
If you love to Jam, the songs, “Star” and “All Yours” will get you on your feet. In all, four of the seven songs have been blended with the local guitar, Kulgu which Soorebia affectionately calls Two-strings.
Speaking to Dreamz News on Saturday February 26, 2022 at the album listening, Martin Soore assured the public of good content for every music lover.
“I’m sure patrons of this EP will have a song to pick from if not more. At least, a song will touch you that’s why we call it the Bag of Rocks and it is coming from a point in my life where a lot of things were going wrong for me. So, I started talking about my state of being in Monopoly and the rest of the songs followed from that concept.
We also tried to introduce elements of our indigenous sound which everybody knows is the Kulko, the two stringed guitar and so four out of the seven have a blend with Kulko”. He assured
He further called for support for the music industry in the region to grow and for the use of music to project the region.
“We should make it an agenda to promote our region through music. Nigeria sold itself through music. How do we tell our story? Music can do so the people who have resources should invest in music”. The Gaafara hitmaker appealed
