EVER YOUNG KEEP FIT CLUB CROWNED CHAMPIONS OF 2021 UPPER EAST REGIONAL KEEP FIT CLUB

It was joy and happiness for Ever Young Keep Fit Club when they overcame their compatriots, Narpo Keep Fit Club by beating them two Goals to nil in this year’s final of the Upper East Regional Keep Fit Club Games at the only Astro Turf field in Bolgatanga to lift the trophy.

For emerging winners of the competition, Ever Young Keep fit Club walked home with various awards with some of their team members also winning awards for their sterling performance in the competition.

They took home a set of Jerseys, Football and a Trophy while the second placed team, Narpo Keep Fit Club took home a set of Jerseys.

St Joseph keep fit Club took home a football as their prize for finishing in the third position in the competition. Veterans Keep Fit club were adjudged the Fair play Club of the competition.

Individual awards

Best Player of the competition went to Asebagna John of Ever Young keep fit club who took a new jersey as his prize with Best Goalkeeper going to Akabare Bright of Ever Young keep fit club who also took home a brand new jersey as his prize.

Angel of catch Them Young was crowned Best Referee of the competition.

Dignitaries who attended this Year’s Regional Keep fit Clubs Games

The competition also had in attendance several dignitaries including the National president of Keep Fit Clubs in Ghana, Nana Adumanka II; Upper East Regional Chairman of Keep Fit Clubs, Alhaji Abdul Sheriff Adams and his vice, Mr. Yandanbon Mark Billa.

Others included the Municipal Chief Executive for Bolgatanga, Rex Asanga and the District Chief Executive for Bolgatanga East, David Amoah.

The National president of the Keep Fit Clubs used the opportunity to swear in the Regional Executives of the Association into office.

Members of the regional executives include Alhaji Sheriff Adams as Chairman, Mr. Yandanbon Mark Billa as vice Chairman, Mr. Maxwell Ayipaala as secretary, Mr.  Samuel Selasie as Treasurer, Mr. Ada A. Jacob as Welfare Officer, Mr. Zakaria Guam as Technical  instructor and Mr. Salifu Afangya as the P. R. O.

He also inaugurated all the keep fit clubs who took part in this year’s keep fit clubs games, thereby making them fully recognized at the Regional level and at the National level. Each club received certificates and, a box of Hand sanitizers to be distributed to their members.

Speaking at the event, Bolgatanga MCE, Rex Asanga, who revealed he is a member of the Magani Keep Fit Club urged the teams to continue to participate in all competitions organized by the regional executives and take their training seriously as he underscored the importance of exercise in heathy living.

On his part, DCE for Bolgatanga East, David Amoah, who took part in the football Games by playing for Alafia Keep Fit Club, advised them to desist from engaging in partisan politics in their respective clubs as that create division among them.

First Round.

Penalties 1-0 for St. Joseph.

Rockland 1-1 Global

Penalties 1-0 for Rockland.

Alafia 0-1 Ever Young

At this level, three teams qualified for the semi Finals, which tossing was done for the two teams which would face off in the semifinal while one would be on the standby.

Narpo won automatically to the final while Ever Young and St Joseph had to battle it out in the semifinal match. Ever Young beat St Joseph by a lone goal and progressed to the finale to meet Narpo.

Ever Young then beat Narpo by two goals to nil to be crowned champions.

Meanwhile, Magani Keep fit Club were also crowned champions for the Volleyball competition.
